Raven diary #47 The Raven 15 pt 3

Dear diary,

Raven here.

Well folks. It’s time for the next edition of the Raven 15.

  1. My next album has to be Felines in the Flesh by New York based rapper Scrat Ching Post. Dave “Scrat Ching Post” Yowlin was born in 1978 and started freestyle rapping on the streets for money and catnip at just two lives old. At one performance, a record label executive named Bobby Caterby of now iconic Cat Hop Records, approached Post about signing to his label. Post agreed. His first two records, PURRRRRRRRRR and You Knead That Human are considered some of the worst albums in feline music history. However, his third record, 1988’s Felines in the Flesh sold over 80,000,000 copies in it’s first two weeks alone and reached #7 on the Catboard Albums Chart. The album has tracks like “Fur Stickin’ Out,” “Cat Guy,” and “Mr. Doggy,” a 19-minute harsh critique on a popular human rapper naming himself Snoop Dogg. And just last year, Lollipop and I collaborated with Post to annoy our cat hating neighbor.
  2. My next album for you is Pawprints by The Human’s Pets. Formed in Seattle as a fictional band for the Human’s Pets show in 2018, singer Yarnie Yarn Brown, guitarist Barbara Brightclaw and drummer Patricia Curvetail decided to go out on the road as a real band just after the show ended. In 2020, The Human’s Pets booked recording time with Catmen frontman Catsy Jones in Pawsome Studios. They recorded their debut REAL album Pawprints in just two months and released it on Brown’s own independent label C Records. The album has punk bangers like “Let’s Get High on Some Catnip,” “Drag It Off the Booty,” and “Feline Denial,” and slower ballads like “My Kittykins,” “What’s This Feline Feeling?” and “Soft Yarnball.”
  3. My next album is Copycat by Meowntain. Meowntain formed in New Orleans in 1980 as a duo of friends Dale Silverpaw (formerly of Caterwall) and Barry Furwood (formerly of the Dust Cats). They signed to famed New Orleans label Mouse Eating Records and released their debut EP Dumb Dogs in 1982. Dumb Dogs garnished little success and neither did their next two records Fur in the Moonlight in 1983 and Sorry I Just Puked, their first length in 1984. However, their second full length, Copycat, released in 1985, sold 30,000,000 copies and shot to #1 on the Catboard Albums Chart. The video for “Claw Clap” is one of the most successfully videos in feline history. Other favorite tracks include “Unfurry Bop,” “Yowl Like A Feline Should,” and “My Friend the Main Coon.”Well, that’s all for now. See you next time for another edition of the Raven 15!!

  1. “two lives old”. . . another good one! Perhaps it’s time to consider writing children’s books. You would be great at it!
