This weekend, we went to a Beatles tribute concert at the Royal Room. I remember being right up front next to the band, which was called Good Day Sunshine, and singing along to the songs. It was loud and awesome. They played the entire British version of the Revolver album and then a Beatles greatest hits. They even snuck in a Led Zeppelin song!
The band was pretty funny and would crack jokes between songs. I requested I Wanna Hold Your Hand and they did it! I remember seeing other Royal Room tribute shows like a Grateful Dead one. I went with my dad and I wore tye-dye to blend in with the dead-heads.
Dear Lucas,
This is sooooooo awesome. I’m glad you enjoyed the show. There is a long standing debate about which album is better – Revolver or Rubber Soul. I’d love your opinion on this. I lean toward Revolver. Did the band do “Tomorrow Never Knows”? It is such a cool track – probably my favorite one on the album, but I think it would be hard to do live.
Rock on!

p.s. If you haven’t heard it, you have to check out Earth, Wind and Fire’s cover of “Got to Get You Into my Life” – I think it might be better than the original. It has a very cool guitar track.
