Greetings many fans,
Last month, I got interviewed for a very popular YouTube channel called Special Books for Special Kids (SBSK). SBSK is a YouTube channel where this guy named Chris interviews different people with disabilities. When we were in Anacortes for spring break, one of the teachers at my elementary school emailed us about the channel. She had thought of me when she watched the videos and thought I should be interviewed. We got into contact with SBSK and eventually, I got interviewed! Chris and his partner stayed for a long time and the interview went really well. He asked very open ended questions.
When I first saw the video yesterday when it came out, I felt really proud of myself for doing the interview and for Chris and his partner for making the video so good. There are things that I didn’t say that I could’ve said, and things that could’ve been improved in the video, but overall, the video is really good and I’m real proud of it.
Ciao! I’ve seen your interview and just check for your blog. I’m writing from Italy and I want to tell you what a beautiful kid you are, what you said shows that you’re clever, funny, loved and loving. You have a special family and a wonderful sister (always remember that sometimes what a big brother has to be is just be patient). I wish you the best, bel ragazzo!
Patience is key, God bless
Your interview was very well done, and it was a blessing to get to know you! Thanks for sharing your story and your courage, Fred
I really enjoyed the interview and enjoyed what I read of your stories, and I look forward to what you come out with in the future.
Keep up the good work, and God bless!
I saw your interview and have to say your parents must be beaming with
I am very glad to have come across your story and this blog, I am glad someone as amazing and smart like you has such a wonderful family, I wish you nothing but the absolute best for you and yours.
I loved this interview! This is how I found out about this amazing blog! You are an inspiration because you had the courage to speak to many people about your experience with Myotubular Myopathy. I learned so much today because of this video! Also, you and your family seem like incredibly sweet people and I truly wish you all the best. 😊
Hi Lucas,
My name is Naomi, I live in London and am currently training to be a Speech and Language Therapist. I came across your blog through this video, and was so impressed by how eloquent, intelligent, insightful, and resilient you are. I thought the questions you asked Chris at the end about whether he thinks he makes any assumptions about the people he meets due to living without disability was particularly thought provoking, and a question we should ask ourselves whenever we interact with people who may live a different life than our own. I look forward to reading your tales about Raven!
I just saw the interview and I really liked it, you are a guy with an excellent sense of humor, greetings from Spain. 😘
I watched your interview with Chris then came to your blog. The thing which struck me about the interview was how you gave very reflective answers to the questions. You are obviously someone with a lot to say about how you experience the world and I hope you keep writing.
Best wishes to you and all of your family from me in Scotland.
Hello, Lucas,
I enjoyed watching your interview with Chris, especially the interactions between you and your family members. I’m glad you agreed to be interviewed.
It will be fun to read your cat diaries, and I look forward to doing so.
Sincerely,
Jeanette
Congratulations on being featured on the SBSK video. It was very good, taught me so much, and you did a terrific job.
My son is your friend Charlie, so I also wanted to congratulate you for your big win at cribbage the other day!

Your SBSK interview was so good! You’re a great kid, and I’ve been enjoying reading your writing.
I want to say that it’s not too late to say the things you wish you would have said in the interview. Since you already have this blog, this would be a good place to get everything out. I’m sure you have loads of thoughts that come from your unique perspective that deserve to be shared with the world.
I wish you all the best! Update us on the trespoopers!
amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Lucas I’m from south Africa cape Town and I absolutely wish I had the pleasure of saying hi! I wish you all the absolute best with your poems! Life is hard but you have a outlook on life that most people will never ever have in their whole lifetime because most of us are so self involved without realising how blessed we are, I just want you to know that their is hope in Jesus and a life after this one in Jesus name. Lots of love from South Africa 🌍 ♥️🤗
I saw your interview, Lucas and I want to tell you that you’re an amazing boy. God bless you and your loved ones. Wish you the very best! Greetings from Rii de Janeiro, Brazil.
You are a strong man and i wish i had half your strength! This was a great interview and you rocked it harder than ozzy Osborne!
Humid Greetings, from Louisiana!
Loved the interview, dude. It was the first thing I watched when I woke up on this beautiful Tuesday morning.
Your condition has really peaked my interest because I am atrophying in my legs and arms as I type this out. Seeing you still as just another happy-go-lucky person has genuinely given me hope.
I really got a smile when your dad said you prefer your left hand, because I am left handed.
The smallest things in life can really keep us all together. It’s a crazy world out there, huh?
Anyways, please continue to write. Writing tickles the mind and keeps it sharp. It also trains you in vocabulary, and proper grammar. I run into too many people around my age (~25) that still cannot spell for shit.
SERIOUSLY! PLEASE, PLEASE CONTINUE TO WRITE. Your condition leads way to so many interesting outlooks on life, and you would be doing the world a service by jotting down said outlooks on print/paper. I always say that the best artists are formed from struggle, and for a young man like yourself, you have a lifetime of obstacles to overcome. Take all of that struggle and frustration, and write something people will cherish. Don’t sit idly by and neglect your gift. Ignore depression or anxiety, or feelings of alienation. YOU GOT THIS!
Feel free to email me if you ever want to brainstorm some writing. I need to get back into the creative field myself
Sincere regards,
-Mark
Hey Lucas,
So amazed by what an amazing young man you are. You truly set an example for all of us to follow! I was also really impressed with how intelligent and eloquent you are! As a teenager (18yo), I really wish I could know you in real life so that we could be friends!
Hi Lucas! I just came from the SBSK video and I wanted to let you know I think you’re super awesome and funny, I thought what you asked Chris at the end was a very good and interesting question, and I thought you’re very well spoken and intelligent! I hope thing are going amazing for you, you’re awesome! :] I’m going to check out the rest of your blog now!
Hey Lucas! I loved learning more about you and your perspective on what life is like with Myotubular Myopathy. I have a neuromuscular disease as well, so I like to learn more about them and feel empathetic about challenges. I loved your family’s perspective too — they remind me of my family. Bless your sisters heart. I think what you’re doing with the blog is great and it motivates me to share my perspective more often.
I really like this kid Lucas a lot and feel some kind of affinity with him. I empathize with his desire to be less isolated and have more friends. Anyway, we both like boardgames and rock music from the 60s and 70s. Definitely a kind and intelligent person. I will try to be his friend if that is possible. Many blessings of healing love to Lucas and his family.
Your SBSK interview was awesome! Looking forward to reading more of your excellent writing. I love that you write from your cat’s perspective! Wouldn’t it be cool if we could hear our pets’ thoughts!?!?
Hi from Sweden! I just saw the interview and was amazed by you. Thanks for teaching me more about life! I like your taste in music btw. Take care!
U the man, Lucas!
The interview was awesome, and the funny thing is, even though English in not my native language i had no trouble understanding you at all!
I think you are an amazing human being and your parents and sister are real heroes!
Take care and greetings

Hi Lucas👋 I watched your video and thought you did a GREAT job! You are sooo smart! I enjoyed listening to your story and wanted to let you know you’ve inspired me to tell my story. You see I have OCD and the problem with my disability is that it’s invisible which causes it’s own set of issues. But after watching how brave you were to go on YouTube to tell the world about you just made my heart melt❤️
Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re helping so many people accept who they are❤️❤️❤️
