Ode to the Bagman

Recently, we went on a trip to Razar State Park and stayed in a cabin on the Skagit River. We called our cabin The Bagman and loved it so much that I wrote it an ode.

Dear, dear, dear Bagman

You have been but a noble, generous, and admirable cabin to us, and I mourn our early departure.

First of all, thank you for your beautiful, spectacular, and extravagant porch. In which you can play Cards Against Humanity and look upon your tall, standing trees, which make up your enormous woods and think, on the outside you are just a small, mediocre cabin, in the middle of humongous woods. But on the inside…

Oh… Bagman, tis like another world when we go into your loving embrace. The vast, huge, titanic expanse and your colossal kiss that you so benevolently reward us with, when we walk/roll into your cavernous depths. Thank you for those wonderful, connected bunk beds, in which I sleep on the bottom and my marvelous sister Ida sleeps right above me.

Oh, I haven’t even mentioned the trails. I don’t know if you know this Bagman, but beyond your generous vibe, there are trails that, (minus the accessibility) hold a stunning view of the mountains and the lake. They also hold great fishing spots.

Bagman. We shall carry your burdens with us wherever we go. And when we return, I promise we will stay much longer.

THANK YOU

Lucas

PS: Bagman. You are named in honor of a character in Harry Potter 4, Ludo Bagman. He is the announcer and commentator at the Quidditch World Cup. That? Well, you’ll just have to read the series.

  1. Dear Lucas,

Your humour captivated me when I watched your interview yesterday on SBSK. I see we are both fans of Cards Against Humanity. Ha ha! But the real awesome player of this card game in my family is my daughter. She obviously inherited her warped sense of humour from me. LOL

I’m going to read all of your cat diaries from 1 – ??, Keep up the awesome writing. xoxox
